We left Vegas after the bike show and figured… why not stop at a few bike shops on the way home.

No plan. Just walk in, say hello, and show the seat.

5 days later:
11 new shops
23 total shops
11 states

What stood out most wasn’t the growth.

It was how fast people “got it” once they tried it… and how many times we heard:

“Why hasn’t this been done before?”

We got pulled into an interview at our first trade show…
We took QuickSet out to CABDA West in Las Vegas last week with a pretty simple goal: get it in front of real bike shops and see how it actually holds up outside of our own bubble.
We loaded up the SUV in Arizona with a table, racks, signage, and over 100 seats and just went for it.
Over two days, we talked with a lot of shop owners and people in the industry. The feedback was pretty consistent, especially from e-bike shops. Riders are staying on bikes longer, and discomfort is something they deal with all the time without a great solution.
We had a couple dealers place orders right there, and a lot more take seats to test in their shops.
That alone made the trip worth it.
But then Gadget Glimpse stopped by and asked if they could film a quick demo of the seat.
I just explained it the same way I would to anyone at the booth. Nothing scripted.
They handled the rest.
Kind of cool seeing QuickSet out there like that.

Hi everyone,

Over the past few weeks a few bike shops in Arizona have started carrying the QuickSet saddle. The approach has been simple. Walk into the shop, introduce myself, and ask the owner to take a look at the seat.

Later this month we will try that same approach on the road.

We will be exhibiting at a bike dealer show in Las Vegas. After that Anita and I will begin the drive back to Minnesota, stopping at bike shops along the way to introduce the seat and hear directly from shop owners about what they think.

We’ve been a little quiet lately while moving QuickSet from prototype into full production.

Production seats have now arrived, and the next phase is underway. QuickSet is beginning to appear in a handful of early bike shops as we continue visiting retailers and prepare for CABDA West, one of the larger trade shows for bike retailers, next month.

Our Kickstarter campaign wrapped up yesterday, and we just want to thank everyone who supported it, shared it, or followed along. The encouragement throughout this process has meant a lot.

Over the past couple of months we’ve visited more than 30 bike shops across Minnesota and Arizona, and the feedback on the QuickSet seat has been really strong. With that momentum, we’re now moving ahead into production.

We’re in the final few days of our Kickstarter campaign for the QuickSet adjustable bike seat.

As of tonight, the project is about 71% funded and the Kickstarter campaign ends early Friday morning. That means this is the final window to back the project and secure a seat from the first production run.

QuickSet just picked up its second Minnesota news feature in one week!
This time the Sartell Newsleaders ran a great story on how Jack and Anita’s idea really began: long rides on local trails, a friend (Wayne) standing up half the way home because his seat was killing him, and years of testing until the QuickSet adjustable bike seat finally took shape.

Big moment for BestBikeSeat.com this week. The Sauk Rapids Herald ran a feature story on Jack and Anita and the journey behind our adjustable-width bike seat. From early sketches to testing hundreds of miles on Minnesota trails, the article captured the heart of how this idea started.

We’re now 61 percent funded with 12 days left on Kickstarter. Moments like this help people discover what Jack and Anita have been building, and it means a lot to see their story in print.

Before our campaign was approved - and before we shot the “official” video - Kickstarter asked for proof that our seat was real, not just a concept or CGI render.

The only time my stepson’s schedule and mine aligned was late at night, so he grabbed his iPhone and we filmed in the backyard under the world’s finest flood light. The take featured a very loud chorus of crickets (don’t worry, I edited them out) and me rambling like a zombie, but it did the job and proved to Kickstarter that QuickSet wasn’t vaporware.

Huge thanks to Martin for jumping in between his job and college schedule. That rough little video got QuickSet approved and rolling. The one here is a 30-second cut from the 90-second clip we submitted to Kickstarter.
