On floor, pre-owned fi***rm came in with a copy of its 1990 4473 form tucked away with it. No driver's license information needed if the person "is known".

In our 13 years, we've seen some pretty big revisions to this form(and potentially more coming...) but it's crazy to see the simplicity of it pre-NICS.👀

Construction update: The concrete failed.

We were told the roundabout plus the entrance south and west of us is having to be cut and removed to be redone. Construction will not be done end of month. They are 3 weeks out.

We should have asphalt to our entrance end of week though🤞🏼🤞🏼 Stay tuned…

Side note: Have a High school kid? Plan for extra travel time when school starts to be safe 🫣

Week “I don’t even know anymore” of construction but progress is being made. Hopefully it will be completed by end of month.🤞🏼🤞🏼

In the meantime, we’ve had people using our grass to turn around on. We’ve put up stakes to help avoid this but people have taken them down or backed right over them. We keep it maintained as we utilize that space for our DNR kids.

Please utilize use our parking lot even with your trailers! We’d definitely prefer that over ruts and the DNR kids will too.

If you haven't heard, DNR licensing is going electronic and starts June 9th. We are unable to sell licenses from June 2-8 so during this period may fish without a license. June 9th, anglers must have current license. Any licenses purchased prior are valid.

Licenses will either be electronic or printed on 8.5x11 paper.

Minnesota DNR's new electronic licensing system launches June 9! 📆

The DNR is rolling out a modern licensing system replacement that is built for today's customers and technology. Phase one of the launch in June will include the hunting and fishing modules. 🤳

The new system offers more flexibility than ever — three ways to buy a license (mobile app, online, or in-person from a license agent) and three ways to carry it (paper, PDF, or stored in the app). 📱

As part of this transition, hunting and fishing licenses will be temporarily unavailable for purchase between June 2 - 8 as we switch over to the new system. During that time, people may fish without a license in Minnesota. All regulations for the season and bag limits will remain in effect. On June 9, fishing licenses will again be required and you will be able to purchase them through the new system. 🎣

Turkey hunters need to register their harvest before end of day (11:59 pm) June 1. They will be unable to register their harvest during the transition/cutover period. 🦃

For now, nothing changes for those needing to register or title recreational vehicles and watercraft. That module of the new system will launch at a later date. 🚤

Update: It’s restored!

Day 3 of construction and they hit an underground powerline.

We have no power. We are forced to close early today. We will update here when we have power again but should be back tonight so we are functional tomorrow!

Signage and access has been improved👏🏼 Huge shout out to the individuals who helped us escalate the access issue beyond the county and to Mike at Knife River. Mike called us last evening to find out what’s going on and to rectify it immediately. He adjusted barricades, added signage, and improved safety!

As construction continues for the next 11 weeks, please let us know if you have any problems getting to us.
