The Rip Van Winkle Club are incredibly grateful to have shared the field with the Kingston Guards for our first official match.

To make our debut against such a respected club, in front of a great crowd of cranks, friends, families, dogs, and supporters, made for a truly special day.

While the result may not have gone our way, the match marked the beginning of something we are very excited about. We are looking forward to our inaugural season, growing the club, and bringing more vintage base ball to the Hudson Valley in the months ahead. Hurrah!

The Rip Van Winkle Club made its debut this weekend in front of a great crowd, several dogs, and more than a few future ballplayers.

We played some fine base ball and had an even better time bringing the game back to the grounds.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us. We look forward to seeing you at a match soon.

🗳️ BREAKING FROM THE GUARDS NEWSROOM ⚾️

The Decision Desk has called it — Taylor Bruck is the projected winner for Ulster County Clerk!

While early reports suggested a tight race, it turns out he, uh… ran unopposed — not the kind of race that needed extra innings. To be honest, we’re just excited that “the campaign” won’t be an excuse to miss practice for another four years.

While the Kingston Guards remain a proudly non-partisan organization, we can’t help but cheer for our co-founder’s victory.

Hurrah for Clerk-elect Bruck! And rest assured — a Kingston Guards game will always be more fun than waiting at the DMV.
