Senior Spotlight: Sydney Slezak
Sydney Slezak has proudly worn the Brookside Wave cap since she was just 5 years old—making this her 13th season with the team. Over the years, Brookside has become her second home, filled with laughter, learning, and lifelong friendships. Among her favorite memories are the Fun Fridays, especially the chance to pie her coaches, and the Champs Rally Scavenger Hunts. Outside of the pool, Sydney has always kept busy and involved. She recently graduated from Prospect High School, where she excelled as a three-sport varsity athlete in volleyball, soccer, and softball. Across her 11 varsity seasons, Sydney not only proved herself as a talented competitor but also as a leader and a scholar, earning the prestigious Female Scholar Athlete Award in recognition of her dedication both on the field and in the classroom.
Sydney extends heartfelt thanks to her parents and her older sister, Madison, who have been her biggest cheerleaders from day one. Their constant support, love, and guidance have been the foundation of her success—whether in sports, academics, or life.
This fall, Sydney will begin an exciting new chapter at Colorado State University, where she plans to study Zoology and try out for the Women’s Soccer Club Team. With her love of animals and passion for science, she’s ready to take on anything- starting in Fort Collins.
We’ll miss her at Brookside, but we can’t wait to see all the incredible things she’ll accomplish. Go Rams!
