It makes me terribly sad to learn that Hugh Groman has taken his own life. I first met Hugh in the summer of 1986 as his counselor at UAHC Swig Camp Institute for Living Judaism. It is a stark reminder that su***de a permanent solution to what are usually temporary issues.

My dear friends, I love all of you very much.

After some thought and reflection, and in no small part discussions with my dear friend Paul Yu and my spouse Torri Horovitz, I have decided to delete my Facebook account. Social media has been ripping at the fabric of our society for some time. It has been a wonderful way to keep up with each of you over the years. For myself, the usefulness is now at an end.

Just to be clear, Hamas has never cared about the Palestinian 🇵🇸 people. Only their own personal power and their self declared desire to eliminate Israel 🇮🇱 from the face of the earth.

At this point, people of goodwill everywhere need to channel their inner Ofir. We all need to destroy Hamas. That wont happen at the end of a sword, for Hamas is an idea and a movement at this point. Destruction of Hamas will come through acts of loving kindness towards the Palestinian people. The cycle of violence only makes Hamas stronger.
