Middlebury rowers train with passion and focus, their aim to compete and win against the best varsity teams from New England and beyond. In recent years the team has grown to over 70 student-athletes, both men and women, forming a competitive and supportive group. In the fall, the team rows out of facilities on beautiful Lake Dunmore, in the town of Salisbury, VT, located about 20 minutes south of
Middlebury College. The fall rowing season consists of larger head style races culminating with the Head of the Charles in Boston, MA. Prior to retuning to Lake Dunmore in the spring, the team rows out of Tom’s Marine on Otter Creek, in the town of Ferrisburgh, VT, located 35 minutes north of Middlebury College. Spring races culminate with the New England Championship Regatta in Worcester, MA and Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, PA. Middlebury Crew competes during the regular season with other NESCAC schools in both 8+ and 4+ boats, as well as other New England colleges and universities. Henry Bell’14, Jordan Kelley ’14, and Thomas Phifer ’14 head up the novice programs.
