Big news today from Coolmore America: JOURNALISM has been retired from racing following an injury sustained at the start of last weekend’s San Diego Handicap (G2) at Del Mar, where he rallied to finish his career with a win.

The son of Curlin retires with seven wins from 14 starts and more than $4.7 million in earnings. His career included victories in the Preakness Stakes, Santa Anita Derby, Haskell Stakes and San Diego Handicap, along with runner-up finishes in both the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes.

The only horse to compete in all three legs of the 2025 Triple Crown, Journalism also returned to Saratoga for the 2026 Met Mile on Belmont Stakes Day.

He will begin his stallion career at Ashford Stud in Kentucky. Wishing Journalism a happy and healthy retirement!
