Congratulations to Danny on his commitment to Bloomsburg University. Danny will be a great addition to their program. He represented SWC and Toga wrestling incredibly well over the past 13 years. His future is bright and we look forward to seeing him at the Division 1 level.

After watching him come within inches/seconds of pulling the biggest upset of the 2026 NYSPHSAA DI State tournament in March before ultimately dropping a 14-11 decision in the large school 165-pound main event to #5 in the nation ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ (St Francis; 4x State placer/3x finalist/2x Champion; 2025 S32 4th; 2024 NHSCA National Champion, etc)....
It would be an understatement to say that we are excited to see what our #47 overall Senior Big Boarder can/will achieve during the next 4-5 years as a member of the Huskies!!!
A late-"bloomer" (no pun intended) who continually demonstrated growth throughout his scholastic career as a Blue Streak (Saratoga Springs) student-athlete; Dacey went from not placing at the S2 championships as a freshman to being a state blood rounder as a sophomore in 2024; and then a back-to-back place-winner in Albany as an upperclassman!!
5th on South Pearl Street in 2024-2025 with his only blemishes coming at the hands of ๐๐ฒ๐๐ญ๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ข๐๐ (Minisink Valley; 2x State Medalist/2026 Champion; 3x NHSCA AA) and ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐ (St. Francis; 2x State placer/2026 runner-up)...
Dacey returned to MVP Arena for the third straight Winter with a chip on his shoulder, as he was categorically unstoppable for much of the weekend in registering victories by way of :41 fall, 3:35 fall, and 9-2 decision during the Rounds of 16 thru semifinals against Islip's ๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ซ๐ (2026 State 8th; 2026 Suffolk 2nd), Watertown's ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐๐ ๐ (2x S3 Champion), & ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ค๐๐๐ข๐ฌ (2026 State 6th;2x Nassau finalist/2026 Champion), of Bellmore-JFK to reach the 'ship as the third-seeded competitor in the bracket!!
His performance on the NYS DI stage reminiscent of how his banner swan song season played out as a whole...
Dacey would also pin his way to the hardware at the Windsor (after prior finishes of 6th and 3rd) and finished 2nd at his school's hosted event (losing only to nationally ranked, ๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ก (2x Prep National All-American; 2023 PIAA 7th; 2x Fargo FS 5th; 2023 NHSCA 4th; 2025 Super 32 5th)!!
Renewing his rivalry with Ballston Spa's ๐๐ฒ๐ฅ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ซ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ฌ in a rematch of the 2025 Section finals; "Double-D" repeated as a S2 king when he TF the Scotties' 12th grader!
All in all amassing a 44-5 record; per CNYWrestling; Dacey's high school victory total was raised to 183 (183-46)!!
The second NYSPHSAA runner-up in a matter of weeks to volunteer his services to Huskies' Head Coach, ๐
๐ค๐๐ฃ ๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ฉ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ฃ; Dacey joins 157-pound DI silver medalist, ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฑ๐๐๐๐๐๐ (Iona Prep), who announced his pledge on April 12th!
