One only has to look out the window at the subdued sky or open the door and smell to realize Utah is right in the middle of wildfire season. Fires with a vengeance. A fire season unlike most. Our entire state seems to have erupted in flames.

Besides the obvious damage to property, homes and wildlife is the damage our lungs are taking with each breath. Choking, coughing, shortness of breath - all are taking a toll on everyone.

So how can R&R Tactical help? Well, in two ways. First, if you come down to our range instead of going out target practicing in the desert or mountains, you will eliminate the possibility that your actions could start another fire. That right there could same you MILLIONS in fines for being the cause. And two, our air filtration system is the best there is, bar none. All of the smoke, ash and other pollutants are scrubbed from the air before it gets to your lungs. Nothing but pure, clean air.

If you or a loved one would benefit from breathing clearly and cleanly, come on down for a range session. Now we can't help what you will breathe outside, but while you are in our clean, comfortable environment you will be breathing air that is far cleaner than the best day outside. This should help your breathing clear up.

So how about it? Why not take in a range session and breathe clean air? And remember, only YOU can prevent wildfires!

In case you hadn't looked at the calendar, this weekend is the day set aside to honor our fathers. Now I know the cliche' gift to give ol' dad is another tie and maybe a matching shirt. But is that what dad really wants?

We can think of a lot of better ideas! Our shop is filled with those ideas, such as a new gun, some ammo, a range pass to go shooting or even a range membership to keep on giving every month of the year. As a father, that sure sounds a lot better than a tie that you will wear only because your son or daughter gave it to you but it would never be the one you would pick.

Maybe dad is a bit harder to find a gift for. Maybe you are not certain just what he would like. Got you covered there too - a one size fits all gift card! That way dad can pick something out for himself. And gift cards really do make a lot of sense. Have you ever picked out something that just didn't work, didn't fit, didn't look good or didn't get appreciated? You are sincerely lucky if that has never been the case!

It's YOUR Birthday today! Here's to you having a wonderful birthday!

After all, one should celebrate YOUR birthday, right? And today is YOUR day!

I mean, it WOULD be your birthday if you were born today. And if you WERE to have been born today, it would be YOUR birthday and you would be buying a new gun, right?

So what's stopping you? And, other than the guy behind the counter checking your ID, no one will know, for sure, whether it IS your birthday or if you just needed a new gun. Everyone needs a new gun. Or time on the range. Or both.

Arrghh....Here it is 'name your poison day' and you are left to make some decisions. And hopefully it will be some good decisions. Now, to some this means to either make a bad decision or the lesser of the evils but there are many good decisions that can be made as well. We all know better and What to do, what to do.....

In case the word has not gotten to you yet, the BLM announced on June 4 that steel core ammo is BANNED from use on public lands in Utah. This is because of the danger of fires being started by this ammo. When it strikes rocks (and the desert is full of rocks) it often sparks and the very dry june grass and other fuel is so easy to start on fire that it creates a danger to us all.
Why do many of us use steel core? Price. Plain and simple.
Have you ever been there when a spark starts a fire? Believe me, with the conditions we have this summer, it will take off like, well, wildfire and pretty soon hundreds to thousands of acres are torched. And with every instance of that happening there is a growing call to ban shooting on BLM land.
Now you can't use steel core at an indoor range like R&R Tactical either because it tears up the targeting equipment, BUT it is not the only type of ammo that can cause fires especially around volcanic rock. And if you haven't heard, YOU will be the one paying for fire fighting costs if you start a fire!
So especially during this very dry summer, it would be the smart thing to do to come indoors at R&R where it is nice and cool, use lead core ammo and you won't be starting multi million dollar fires. Hey, we all like to shoot outdoors as well but please - do your part to help out and not get target shooting banned!
And it's pretty hot outside anyway.....

No other single event defined a generation as well as D-day, June 6, 1944. Up against one of if not THE most powerful forces opposing Freedom of all time, brave men charged into what was certain death. And many did die, many more were wounded. But the tide broke and the forces of evil were suddenly on the defensive and eventually to defeat and surrender.

We take time every D-day to honor those brave men. Few are still with us, and shortly they all will be gone. Gone but leaving us with our Freedoms intact and the memories of what they did.

Join with us at R&R Tactical in celebrating their sacrifices. We should never take our freedoms for granted, as forces even within our own country are fighting to do away with them. The Second Amendment, our men and women in uniform and the will of the People are all that stand between us and them.
