THIS EVENT WILL START AT 9 A.M.
We will be combining two major club events into one great
day at the airfield. First, show your patriotism and pride as
we highlight War Birds from all eras. And come ready to drop
some bombs on unique targets to earn some great prizes.
9:00am Start with Welcome
10:00am WWI/WWII FUN FLY
10:30am BOMB DROP COMPETITION
11:00am MODERN WARBIRD FUN FLY
11:30 FUN BOMB DROPS
Event Rules:
Bomb Drop Rules
1. Any Fixed Wing airplane (no helicopters)
2. No high Alpha Maneuvers (hovering etc.)
3. Fly Down Runway and Release
4. Bombs may be released during a maneuver
5. Bombs should be small and harmless
6. Three to Five bomb drops per person pending participants
7. Score is measured where “bomb” stops
8. Boxes will be scored as shown in diagram unless you choose to participate in drawing a mission card to increase possible points.
9. Ties will be broken for first three places by a fly off – one drop per pilot
Fun Drops
1. Draw a card and attempt to bomb drop on designated target that was drawn.
2. No winners, just have fun trying to hit your targets like our real military pilots do.
Bomb Drop Mission Cards
· To earn more points on bomb drop runs draw a mission card. Pilot can elect to accept mission or not without penalty on their bomb run.
· Mission Cards
o High Altitude Bombing (Drop from 50’ or more onto targets for Double Points)
o One Shot (Drop a bomb in one single pass over the target +10 pts.)
o Dive, Dive, Dive (Stuka dive the target from high altitude. +5 points)
o Low and Slow (Release payload under 10’. +5 points)
o Double of nothing (Hit the center and double your score. Otherwise no points.)
o Quick Strike (Drop in under 30 seconds. Double points)
Fun Drop Target Set Up
· Targets would be set up in grasses on west edge of runway
· 4 nonmoving targets made of cardboard
o Medical Supply Drop (Drop on a hospital target with bombe or parachute)
o Camp Resupply (Drop on a camp target, bomb or parachute)
o Convoy Destroyer (Drop a Bomb on the convoy Target)
o No Air Support (Hit Plane/hanger with Bomb)
· 1 moving target
o Ship at Sea (Hit the moving target with bomb) target would be RC car with target on top while moving on runway.
