Today was the dedication of the bronze Funny Cide statue at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. It is an incredible honor and a testament to how much our Gutsy Gelding meant to horse racing and, most importantly, its fans. We miss him every day, but are thrilled and touched to see his legacy live on. Thank you to all who took part in making this happen with a special shout out to the incredibly talented artist Shelly Hunter. Funny Cide - forever in our hearts!

Funny Cide, the legend himself, was born at McMahon of Saratoga for breeder WinStar Farm on this day in 2000. A statue dedication for Sackatoga's Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Jockey Club Gold Cup winner, shown taking his final career start, the Wadsworth Memorial Handicap at Finger Lakes, will be at the Kentucky Horse Park on April 30. An epic win in The Canadian Turf Stakes (G3) for Tiz Dashing at Gulfstream Park today! Jockey Javier Castellano gave him a perfect ride as he “dashed” down the stretch to win by almost 4 lengths. Congratulations to Javier, The Barclay Tagg Team, our partners and all the connections. What a day!
