want to share a beautiful account that a person shared with me and I read it at our 2022 event with her permission and not giving her name out of respect to her.
There was woman who shared a beautiful experience she had meeting David Cassidy. She
had open-heart surgery in April of 2016. She had a long rehab but in July of that summer she attended the annual CAPTAIN fund-raiser in Saratoga at the Holiday Inn, where the event was being held. She had spent the night at the hotel. Her hotel room was just a few feet from the Ballroom where the gala event was being held. She went into the Ballroom a little early, to to get table near the front. David was already seated at the table immediately to her right. As she sat, waiting for friends to arrive, she ordered a Coke. She was very self-conscious: walking with a cane for the first time in her Life, wobbly, fine and gross motor skills still coming back to her but slowly. She tried to pick up the Coke, and -- it spilled all over her place setting, and the one next to her. She scrambled to clean it up; a waitress came over and rushed to get new linens. BUT in the meantime ... David who was sitting immediately to her right shoulder jumped up, put his hand on her shoulder, and told her that it would be all right. He grabbed cloth napkins and mopped up the Coke, and started rolling the tablecloth, while moving the plates, silverware, glasses, etc., while they both waited for the server. He said to her “IT'S OK. It's just COKE, not BLOOD”. Patting her shoulder, he could assess that she was very self-conscious about the situation He noticed her chest scar was very visible and noticeable. He asked if she had heart surgery recently. She started crying. He hugged her and assured her that every day, it would get a little better. He was so kind. It showed her the real person that he was. The kind and caring person that he truly was.
I shared several beautiful accounts given to me by many people who met David either in here in town or at the track or just speaking with him on the streets of Saratoga. All these people described David as kind and down to earth. They all said in their encounters he was just the nicest person and unlike some celebrities who came into town he was a regular guy who loved the city the sport and the horses.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ THIS

I feel that I need to clarify something. There is a group in Great Britain formerly known as The David Cassidy Group of Great Britain that a couple years ago in February 2023 changed their name to The David Cassidy Great Britain Legacy Group. This immediately caused some confusion with some people. I only post this because of that confusion and for you all to know we are not involved.

We David Cassidy Memorial Legacy Group DCMLG who have had our name since I founded us
are in no way affiliated with them. There are some questions over their crowdfunding and the amount of it which they are raising funds for The David Cassidy Music Walk of Fame in Camden in London Great Britain.

We David Cassidy Memorial Legacy Group DCMLG
are not involved in that and
never do go fund me or crowdfunding.
Please be aware of this and know that it was not David Cassidy Memorial Legacy Group DCMLG. We are philanthropic and never handle money. Our fundraising events are for nonprofits that David himself supported and are direct giving link with the money raised going directly to the nonprofits we raise funds for.

Our grant program announced April 12, 2023 on David’s birthday. DCMLG follows the lead and good example that David Bruce Cassidy set in his lifetime by giving grants in our grant program to 246 nonprofits that David supported in his lifetime. Grants given in his memory.
David Cassidy Memorial Legacy Group DCMLG has a sister program to our David Bruce Cassidy Scholarship Program. It is the David Bruce Cassidy Memorial Grant Program. Recognizing and appreciating the good and helping those who do good. Thanks to our DCMLG benefactor who is also a generous benefactor to the University of Norte Dame and a grad of that university and a dear friend of mine we are able to help. He handles the funding and for that we are also truly grateful. David was such a great humanitarian and we are so thankful to “Mr. ND” for allowing us to carry on David’s humanitarian work. He expects nothing in return and DOES NOT claim his helping on taxes. We always say NO RECEIPT NECESSARY in our grant letter listed in comments.
David wanted a better world and we DCMLG do our part to help others. We give out grants and scholarship awards in the form of money orders.
