📅 Actionable Draw Deadlines Ahead
- August 2 – Nebraska: Resident draw deadline for bighorn sheep permits — once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
- August 5 – Colorado: OTC & leftover tags for elk, deer, antelope, and add-on bear become available statewide — no points needed.
- August 6 – North Dakota: Antelope application deadline.
- August 7 – South Dakota: Draw deadline for both antelope and Custer State Park bison tags.
- August 12 – South Dakota: Firearm antelope draw deadline.
- August 15 – Idaho: Secondary (leftover) tag sales open for deer, elk & antelope.

There’s something about the outdoors that resets everything.

Not just the crisp mountain air or the echo of a bugle at daybreak—but the stillness, the solitude, the vastness. Out there, you’re reminded how small you are and how lucky you are. The noise fades. The pressure lifts. The horizon stretches wide—and you can finally breathe.

For me, the wilderness has always been more than a passion. It’s a sanctuary. A place where the calendar doesn’t matter and the phone doesn’t ring. Whether I’m chasing elk across ridgelines or glassing quiet valleys at sunrise, it’s not about the harvest. It’s about presence. Gratitude. Clarity.

This is why so many of us are drawn to hunting and the wild places left in this world. It’s where we feel most human. Most alive.

In the rush of daily life, we all need something that brings us back to center. For me, that’s the outdoors. And I’m grateful every day that I get to live it—not just on the weekends, but as part of my life’s work.
