⚽ When Helping Hurts: The Parent Sideline Problem

Most football parents mean well. They shout because they care.

But here’s the truth , what they think is encouragement is often instruction.

“PASS!”
“SHOOT!”
“DRIBBLE!”

Those words aren’t encouragement, they’re commands. And when 10 different adults are shouting 10 different things, all a child hears is noise.

Playing football means constantly making decisions, when to pass, when to dribble, when to shoot. Every shout will just confuse the child taking anyway opportunities to learn.

👏 Praise bravery
👏 Encourage smiles

Let the kids make mistakes, solve problems, and grow their football brains.

They don’t need a coach on every sideline, they need a calm, supportive parent who believes in them.
