Strong movement starts with two essential foundations: mobility and stability

Mobility gives your body the freedom to move through an appropriate range of motion. Stability gives you the control to maintain proper positioning throughout that movement. As we age, both become increasingly important for maintaining balance, confidence, independence, and the ability to perform everyday activities safely.

In this clip from our recent Movement Foundations Clinic in Lakewood Ranch, we’re using a modified side plank to strengthen the lateral core, hips, shoulders, and trunk stabilizers.

The modified position makes the exercise more accessible while still teaching the body to resist unwanted movement and maintain proper alignment. It can be a great option for older adults who are working to improve:

• Core and hip stability
• Balance and postural control
• Shoulder strength
• Confidence getting up, down, and moving in different positions
• Resilience during everyday activities

The goal is not to make every exercise harder. The goal is to choose the right variation, perform it with control, and build a stronger foundation for long-term movement.

At F.I.T. CONCEPTS, we meet clients where they are and help them move forward safely and confidently.

🏌⛳️

I don’t have to explain the results, Tyler said it himself.

A lot of golfers believe performance training is only about increasing clubhead speed, ball speed, and carry distance. Those things matter, but golf performance is much more complex than simply trying to swing harder.

Golf requires a stable base, a mobile upper body, and the ability to properly separate and coordinate the hips, torso, and shoulders throughout the swing.

For professional golfer Tyler Allred, one of our primary focuses has been developing lower-body stability so he can rotate more efficiently, produce power from a stronger foundation, and maintain control throughout his swing.

That same principle applies to golfers of every age and skill level. Some golfers lack mobility. Others are overly mobile but do not have the stability or body control required to use that mobility effectively. Limitations in balance, rotation, strength, and separation can affect distance, accuracy, consistency, and confidence on the course.

Tyler explains that the stability work we have implemented is helping him become more accurate, more consistent, and more confident in his game. That is what golf performance training should be about—not just chasing speed, but building a body that can repeatedly produce quality golf shots.

Through a TPI Level 1 Assessment, we can identify the physical limitations that may be affecting your swing and develop a training program around your specific needs.

Golfers, baseball players, tennis players, pickleball players, and fighters all need rotational power.

But rotational power is not just twisting harder.

It requires hip mobility, core control, thoracic rotation, lower-body strength, timing, and the ability to transfer force efficiently.

At F.I.T. CONCEPTS, rotational performance training helps athletes develop strength and power that actually carries over to sport.

Train the body behind the movement.

Training the athlete—not just chasing numbers.

Colton is an 13-year-old track and field athlete who came to F.I.T. CONCEPTS looking to improve his strength, posture, and athletic performance while training safely with mild scoliosis.

At his age, the goal is not to chase one-rep maxes or add weight simply for the sake of lifting heavier. Our priority is building the movement quality, stability, coordination, and strength foundation that will support him throughout his athletic development.

Today’s session included:

🏃 **Sprint mechanics and maximal-effort sprints**
We worked on acceleration, posture, force production, and controlled deceleration—skills that directly transfer to track performance while helping him learn how to safely produce and absorb force.

🦵 **Single-leg glute bridges and split squats**
Track athletes spend much of their sport producing force from one leg at a time. These movements help develop hip stability, unilateral strength, pelvic control, and better lower-body alignment.

🏋️ **Kettlebell goblet squats**
The goblet position allows us to reinforce proper squat mechanics, trunk control, and total-body stability without unnecessarily overloading his spine.

💪 **Forward and backward waiter carries**
These carries challenge shoulder stability, trunk control, posture, coordination, and the athlete’s ability to maintain position while moving in different directions.

Strength training for young athletes should be progressive, purposeful, and appropriate for the individual in front of you. Every exercise should have a reason, and every training decision should support both long-term health and athletic performance.

Colton has already made excellent progress, and we are continuing to build a strong, stable, and confident athlete—one quality repetition at a time.

If you are looking for individualized training for yourself or a young athlete, contact F.I.T. CONCEPTS to schedule an assessment.

Build power from the ground up. ⛳️

The low-to-high squat chop teaches golfers to create force through the legs, transfer it through the core, and finish with controlled rotation—similar to the sequence used during the golf swing.

Benefits include:

• Improved lower-body force production
• Better hip and torso separation
• Increased rotational power
• Stronger core stability
• Improved coordination and balance
• More efficient power transfer into the club

Golf performance is not just about swinging harder. It is about producing force efficiently, controlling rotation, and maintaining a strong position throughout the movement.

Train the body to move better—and give your swing a stronger foundation.

Getting cleared is not always the same as being ready.

Return-to-sport training bridges the gap between rehab and full performance. It helps athletes rebuild strength, confidence, movement quality, power, and sport-specific readiness.

At F.I.T. CONCEPTS, we build progressive training plans that help athletes move from controlled training back toward competitive performance.

The goal is not just to return.
The goal is to return prepared.

If you or your athlete is coming back from injury, book a consultation.

Build rotational power that carries onto the course. ⛳️

Tyler is performing a standing low-to-high cable chop—a movement designed to train the body to generate and transfer force from the ground, through the hips and core, and into the upper body.

Sound familiar? That is exactly what needs to happen during an efficient golf swing.

Through TPI-based assessment and golf performance training, we identify physical limitations that may be affecting your swing, then build a program to improve:

🏌️ Rotational strength and power
🏌️ Hip and thoracic mobility
🏌️ Core stability and force transfer
🏌️ Balance, control, and movement efficiency
🏌️ Durability throughout the round and season

The goal is not just to swing harder. It is to move better, produce force more efficiently, and build a body that supports your game both on and off the course.
