What do you do while waiting? Like the Hanged Man in tarot, many of us are feeling like we're "hanging in there" and waiting before our next move. It's difficult to commit when the future is uncertain and volatile. But another card from the Voyager Tarot deck comes to mind...The Surfer...enjoying the action as well as the space between. Consider the example of being content to sit on potentiality and wait for the perfect wave to appear. It's worth the wait if you can enjoy the moment. Surfing is a metaphor for so many lessons that are applicable in our lives and work when we seem to be suspended in liminal space. Patience, focus, balance, timing, comfort with the flow & pace of nature, and appreciation of the moment. Focus and balance are the two practices that keep me afloat during these periods of ambiguity. Every moment has value, every action is the process, and every engagement takes us further.
