Our Dive Team and Marine Patrol Unit were proud to spend time with our community on Sunday morning cleaning up beautiful Sarasota Bay! Our officers joined Sarasota Bay Watch, Scuba Quest Sarasota, Sarasota Bay Estuary Program and the City of Sarasota, Government, to take on the shoreline to remove debris both above and below the water.

Jet-skiers and kayakers helped communicate with divers and assisted in debris transfer from divers to collection sites. The topside crew retrieved trash from the shoreline. They also measured, weighed and bagged the debris while returning entrapped sea life back to the water.

Together, we're helping protect wildlife, waterways and the beauty that makes Sarasota Bay so special 💙

Congratulations to these Open Water Scuba divers! Great day to be on the Gulf Sunday! 7 mile reef bottom temp was 77°. 3 mile reef was 81°. Both had 20' visibility and full of fish, including 2 goliath groupers. They're ready for summer adventures!

Missy reports 15' vis off Venice Beach this morning.
Conditions were great for an easy shore dive. Lots of sheepshead and sea trout on the reef. 🐠
Weather looks to be moving in this weekend.

Congratulations to these Open Water Scuba divers! We had the Open Water scuba diver weekend class along with the IN:VEST program participants from Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. What a privilege to see these young persons grow and become scuba divers! New adventures ahead for everyone!🤙
