POV: Your yoga teacher warming up before class like she’s about to go out dancing 😂

Meanwhile, five minutes later I’ll be telling everyone to “soften your jaw and relax your shoulders.”

Teaching yoga is a funny balance of practice and presence. Before class starts, you’ll often find me stretching, wiggling, shaking things out, testing my balance, and reminding my own body to slow down.

Because yoga teachers don’t have it all together—we just keep showing up and practicing too.

Come as you are. We’ll figure it out together

The props are already waiting for you.

Not because you can’t set them up yourself, but because sometimes life asks a lot of us.

Some students arrive carrying anxiety.
Some are navigating loss, divorce, or uncertainty.
Some are caring for everyone else and rarely allow themselves to receive care.

At Dharma Yoga, we believe yoga is more than movement. It’s creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and welcomed exactly as they are.

You are not just another body in the room.
You are a human being with a story.

For one hour, let us hold the space.

All you have to do is show up. 💜

The most common thing I hear is,
“I’m not flexible enough for yoga.”

The truth?

Flexibility is not a requirement—it’s a result of practice.

At Dharma Yoga SRQ, every body is welcome. Just come as you are💜

Sisterhood Sound Circle

We begin to create our sacred container with intention setting for our peaceful practice.

Gentle yoga asana allows us to feel into our bodies, and what is asking to be released.

We then find ourselves nestled on our mats in a sea of blankets with satin eye masks as we drift off into a meditative state accompanied by a blissful soundscape; crafted to promote relaxation and rest.

All are welcome to experience this 75 minute immersion of intention, movement, and sound.

Summer Schedule Update

Hatha Yoga is now called Flow.

The class hasn’t changed—just the name! We found that the word Hatha often confuses new students, so we’ve chosen a name that better reflects the experience of moving mindfully with breath, strength, balance, and ease.

Same practice. New name.

See you on the Yoga mat

New class name, same practice!

Have you ever wondered why our Hatha class is now called Flow?

Here’s why…

The word Hatha is one of the most misunderstood terms in yoga. Many people see it on a schedule and aren’t quite sure what it means—or they assume it’s something completely different than what they’re looking for.

In truth, Hatha simply refers to the physical practice of yoga.

Our class hasn’t changed. The mindful movement, breath, strength, balance, and intention are all still there.

We are simply renaming it Flow because it better describes the experience you’ll have when you step onto your mat.

Yoga is for everyone, and sometimes changing the language helps make the practice feel more accessible.

Same heart. Same practice. Just a clearer name.

Namaste,
Noelle

The Practice of Receiving

One thing I do differently in my yoga classes is that I don’t ask my students to clean up their props at the end of class.

Instead, I offer that as a gift.

For the hour they spend on their mat, they’ve chosen to step away from responsibilities, schedules, caretaking, and doing. They’ve carved out time to simply be, to restore, and to receive.

For many of us, receiving is surprisingly difficult. We are comfortable giving, helping, serving, and taking care of everyone else. Yet when support, kindness, or help is offered to us, we often hesitate.

Yoga teaches balance—not only in our bodies, but in the way we move through life. It teaches us that receiving can be just as sacred as giving.

So when class ends, I invite my students to stay in that space a little longer. To let themselves be cared for. To leave their props behind and carry the feeling of being supported with them into the rest of their day.

Sometimes the deepest yoga practice isn’t doing more.

It’s allowing ourselves to receive.
