August has been fun with a variety of species and some bigger fish . Some inshore tarpon are still around on strong tides . We are consistently catching Goliath grouper on structure . Cobia are starting to make their way into our area. We are targeting them as well schools of Spanish mackerel, bluefish jacks and ladyfish are busting on the surface especially in the mornings on big schools Bait. It’s been a lot of fun, throwing artificial at them and watching them chase lures . Redfish are schooling up on the shallow flats and big schools of trout are Gorging themselves on all the baits that have moved into the bay. Fishing has been excellent in the morning and I’m offering midday fun trips for as little as 1, 2 or three hours starting around 11:45 AM for those that are looking to cruise around, Stop off at the sandbar , Take a quick dip , observe some dolphins and manatees and just have a good time on the water. With all the massive schools of Bait that’s invading our area in the last couple weeks we are setting ourselves up to have an excellent fall, hoping that September produces larger amounts of fish and some more variety ad some of our plegic species move into the area.
