An element of our Symposium that we are proud of, is our leaning Tracks system. Although we all come together to build community each day, on water we are able to split up to focus on skills specific to kayak, canoe and Adirondack pack canoe. April showers this week. Rivers on the rise, ice out on our local lakes. As the urge to start paddling increase, please just be sure to be dressing for the conditions. We KNOW, we are far from being done with Winter. BUT...with temps hitting the uppper 30's in parts of the Northcountry, you can start to dream. Registration is open for the 2026 Symposium and we are hoping to see you in Saranac Lake this coming June. Last year, by request from our students, we added a 'Moving Water Canoe Course,' taught right in Town on the Saranac River. We're happy to accomodate and expand people's skill sets. With Hanukkah fast approaching and Christmas just around the way, we wanted to take a moment to wish you and your families a wonderful Holiday Season. Thank you for all of your support of our little event and the friendships we have built. We are truly blessed for the support and trust of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail and it's this special time of year that allows us to reflect on the wonderful experiences and community that paddling gives us.

Take the opportunity to enjoy the company of those that mean the most to you, but also find time in the solitude of the outdoors to reflect on what 2025 has meant to us and what adventures and opportunities lie ahead in 2026.

The Holiday Season is upon us! We know we're a bit early, but in the immortal words of Ferris Bueller... "life moves fast." So to assure we don't miss any of you, we're getting a head start. From all of us...the staff at both the Symposium and Northern Forest Canoe Trail, we want to wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving. This past year has seen us make new friends, but also lose others as they made their last portage. So take this time to celebrate their lives and also make sure those that are carry forward with us, truly know how thankful you are for them. This is a truly special time of year and we wish you all the very best. Cheers!
