It is definitely almost summer at the Spur-C! All the trees have their leaves, the birds are nesting and the horses are breaking out their fly masks. Flies are a part of summer but the Spur-C uses a couple different fly control methods to help control them. Natural fly predators that we start putting out in the early spring and continue to do so periodically through the summer to prevent the flies from hatching. We also use fly attractant traps strategically placed around the stables. Neither method involves chemical insecticides.

Yes the Spur-C Stables was flooded. Mostly the road is gone. The horses are doing well. Plenty of horse feed and hay and people to care for them. Call Sally at 915-497-1071 before trying to come up. It is possible just a bit of a detour.

Compadres Therapy volunteers from the Spur-C worked along Alluvial Lane trimming the brush that was scratching our vehicles and picked up a lot of trash. Thank you Holly and David.

Snow at the Spur-C? Well we did want some moisture. 😁Thank you to my wonderful family, Regina Jenkins, Boyd and Nancy Carson, and friend Joy Ferguson for taking care of the horses during our Valentine storm. They broke ice on water tanks, carried warm water to each horse and made sure everyone was eating and comfortable.
