Our second clinic in the series of Farrier Science clinics we are hosting in conjunction with Nicole Leonard of NL Farrier Services is rapidly approaching! The clinic is currently scheduled for Saturday May 16, 2026 from 9am-12pm. Topics that will be covered include but are not limited to:
Anatomy of the hoof & foot
How environment can affect the hoof
How to know when your horse is due for a trim
Learn to identify flares in the hoof and proper foot shape
Proper body position while trimming
How to safely remove a shoe
How long you can hold a foot up and when to let the horse rest
How to handle feet so you can safely trim your horse
Hoof mapping for safe trimming
Basic farrier practices
