Rules to Follow:
Water polo will not be the same as pre-COVID-19. If these rules do not appeal to you then I am sorry but these are non-negotiable.
1. Wait in line, 6ft apart, and wear a mask before entering the pool where city employees will be waiting to take your temperature as well as ask you medical questions.
2. There is a 20 player limit per practice.
3. We will have no more than two swimmers per lane line.
4. There will be no scrimmaging or contact with each other in any way.
5. For the first few weeks there is no sharing equipment.
6. No locker rooms/bathrooms or deck changing. Come to practice in your suit and ready to hop in. Use the bathroom before practice.
7. No parents or spectators will be allowed to sit on the pool deck during practice. (There is plenty of supervision between coaches, lifeguards, and pool managers).
8. No hanging out before or after practices in the parking lot. Get in your cars and go home.
9. Follow the rules, listen to the supervisors on the pool deck, and be attentive to your surroundings.
10. If you fail to follow the rules then you will be asked to leave the pool deck. We will then decide if you will be welcomed back during the COVID-19 period. We are not taking any risks.
High School Group/14-18:
These practices will consist of conditioning and skill work mostly and the workouts will be challenging. We will be swimming and working out legs a lot. If you are not interested in working hard and participating or if a coach sees that you are not trying then we will speak with you to see if you should be attending practices. There are plenty of players that will not be able to get a reservation so please do not take someone’s spot if you do not plan on attending practice or do not want to work hard. These practices are not a great place to start for new players. We request that you have water polo experience and can handle difficult workouts in the water. Due to a small coaching staff we will not have a ton of time to focus on individuals as much as we'd like to.
Masters Group:
We will be leaving the lane lines in the water during masters for at least the first 3-4 weeks. There will be 2 swimmers per lane line where everyone will be allowed to do their own workout. I can organize workouts if that’s what the team wants. Hopefully we can add more practices(passing and shooting) soon!
