In our competitor spotlight today we have a Hobie love story. Meet Jeff and Barb Perlmutter. They will be sailing in the Great Grand Masters division. ❤️⛵️

Jeff and Barb Perlmutter met sailing in early 1983 in Long Beach, California with Fleet 3. Now, over 43 years later they still sail together. Jeff wanted to get married on a boat, so the Queen Mary Wedding Chapel was the chosen location in October 1984.

They've advanced up from 16 Novice fleet to 16C to 16B to 16A. They have sailed many National and World Championships and consider their Hobie Friends as true family.

Barb has sailed some women's H16/H18 events and even won her last two H16 races here at OSYC 🥳

They have been commodores, race chairmen and volunteers. They currently live in Tucson, Arizona (winters) and Chama, NM (summers). Jeff is also an avid astronomer, hiker and fisherman. Barb usually catches more fish and enjoys the outdoors too. 🤣

Although our blonde hair has turned white over the years, the thrill of sailing still excites us to our bones.

Looking forward to many more start line grins 😀. See ya on the water soon. Good Luck to all of the competitors at OSYC.

A little rainy Sunday morning Hobie Hotline historical research on behalf of our Fleet 204 sistren and brethren up in the wilds of NY as they rapidly count down to the 50th Anniversary "MadCatter Regatta"...
Vol. 6 No. 2 the listing of the 1st Madcatter in the Regatta Schedule.
Vol. 9 No. 5 seems to be the first time the results are listed in Hotline (MC-4).

Congrats on the milestone folks from all of Hobie Division 15...Laissez les bons temps rouler!
