POP Pacific Ocean Park - Cove Rats

POP Pacific Ocean Park - Cove Rats A NON-ORGANIZED GROUP OF FRIENDS WHO OCCUPIED, SWAM, & SURFED A STRIP OF BEACH AT LIFEGUARD STATION 27 TO ROSE AVE. (1970-1983)
(Do you want the TRUE STORY?

or the FANTASY Stacy P.'s version from LORDS OF DOGTOWN?) Just a group of rag tag friends whom bound together around the north side of P.O.P. (near 'Jacks at the Beach' Restaurant at the Cove) & Station 27 during the years 1971 to 1981. The main goal at the time was to surf, find an open party, follow our favorite local garage band ("Maidenhead"), get twisted, get "Lucky", AVOID THE AUTHORITIES (

& submerged Barbed Wire) while on the P.O.P. pier & jumping off the end. We were self proclaimed land lords who kept an ever vigilant eye on area for cars with "VAL SURF" license plate frames & posers from Bay St. (B.S. Bombers) who, over our dead bodies, wished to surf at the Cove & surrounding area.
