Imagine waking up 6 months from now, on the ocean beach, looking at your body and thinking: "I'm so glad I stuck with my new year's resolution this time around. I feel so great about myself!"

But is this likely to happen?

I said this before and I will say it again: TODAY is the best day to take action! Year after year I see the same cycle repeating:

January 1st: Packed gym
January 10th: Dwindles down
January 30th: Back to the regulars

I really don't want this to be you. As a professional in the fitness industry and also being passionate about health and wellness, I want YOU to make sure you're getting the results you deserve and continue keeping that motivation you had at the beginning of the year.

This can't happen though if you don't want it or don't take the necessary steps, so let me make it easier for you. You can check out my website below at www.herbisthenics.com to get kickstarted on your journey. Let's crush your goals together! :)

I thought I was the strongest guy for my weight... then I tried an L-Sit. Failed. Muscle Up? Failed. There is so much room for growth; are you ready?

πŸ₯˜ RECIPE WEDNESDAY: RED LENTIL COCONUT DAL πŸ₯˜ 100% VEGAN

DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND, I'M DOING A VEGAN RECIPE SERIES EVERY WEDNESDAY. IT WILL INCLUDE THE ENTREE PLUS INGREDIENTS. However, you'll have to wait for my website to open in December for cooking instructions πŸ‘€πŸ€

Lentil Coconut Dal Ingredients:

β€’ 2.25 cups brown rice
β€’ 2 onions
β€’ 1 oz fresh ginger
β€’ 9 garlic cloves
β€’ 1.5 cups lentils (any kind)
β€’ 3 tbsp curry powder
β€’ 0.75 tsp garam masala or any powder peppers
β€’ 16 oz coconut milk (full fat)
β€’ 12 oz collard greens or swiss chard
β€’ 0.75 cup of tomato chutney or sauce

Basic cooking instructions:

1.) Cook brown rice in saucepan
2.) Add minced garlic and chopped onions to another saucepan (large) with cooking oil until caramelized
3.) Add spices to saucepan
4.) Add lentils, coconut milk, and 2.5 cups water to pan
5.) Stir chard or greens to pan slowly
6. Transfer to bowl after rice and lentils are done cooking. Makes about 5-6 servings. 640 calories each with 20g protein.

Let me know in the comments below if you have any food suggestions!

There's more to Japan than just ramen and fast cars and anime and video games. There's also a tremendous amount of history in Japan's attractions and the magnificent scenery you can take in from the landmarks. I'm sure everyone knows that, but it was refreshing to experience it first-hand and actually become immersed in the culture outside the city life. The first two pictures are in Matsumoto, and the attraction is Matsumoto Castle. Third pic is Mt. Fuji! See you in Kanazawa and Takayama!

I'm 9 months into being vegan - still haven't died of any nutrient deficiencies, blood levels have never been better, and tbh my physical and mental state are at its peak, despite mainstream "science/media" saying they shouldn't πŸ€” but that ain't none of my business 🐸🍡
But nah, this post isn't intended for me to be condescending or arrogant or pompous 🚫
9 months ago when I changed to a plant-based lifestyle, it was easy yet difficult at the same time. The physical transition of researching about the lifestyle and finding food alternatives was a breeze. It was the emotional and psychological warfare that tripped me up πŸ₯΅
In the beginning I was met with instant doubts from people, saying that it's not sustainable (for whatever reason they wanted to come up with lol), you're doing nobody a favor, you're misinformed, to just flat out haters πŸ˜‚
As I stuck with my plan, I noticed people were becoming less and less hostile and put more effort into understanding my reasoning and actually started asking for tips and advices. This is the message I'm trying to convey πŸ”Š
You will always have doubters in your life. There will always be people that are in constant adversity towards you or your beliefs. But when you have that one person that says you inspired them, or just that one person/support system that always has your back - there's no greater sense of satisfaction than that πŸ’«πŸ…
I guess if I can sum up this clichè motivational post in two sentences, it would be to focus on the bigger picture and stay driven to your goals (as cheesy as it sounds). You might not always know who your well-wishers are, or if you've even made an impact on someone's life, but I can guarantee someone is paying attention and you'll feel a hell of a lot better sticking to your goal than giving up and feeling regret ✌🏽

I know it has been awhile since I've been active, but it's largely due to some incredible content I have coming up!

In the video below, I take you through what my progression/transformation looked like for training the front lever hold during a 7 month time span.

Some people achieve it in shorter time, some longer; it all depends on the person! But I hope any of you watching gain some insight and motivation from this 😊πŸ’ͺ

This is my no-bs front lever progression over the 7-some months that I have been training it As stated in the video, I only spent 2-3 weeks at the tucked fro...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far, especially with this lovely weather! (Well, at least where I am it is πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ)

Just wanted to drop in to share a ridiculous arm-blasting exercise πŸ₯΅ if you're tired of bicep curls, forearm curls, or just want to switch up your routine for a bit, try these branch climbs

Find a tree branch that's thick enough so your hand can't fit around it. Start at the bottom and climb your way to the top WITHOUT using your legs! (Swinging is acceptable, but no climbing with legs)

Continue to as high as you're comfortable with and then proceed down the branch as slow and controlled as possible. After a few rounds of these, phewww, let me tell you your forearms will be tiiiiight and your biceps will be pumped πŸ’ͺ

You don't need a gym or fancy equipment to work out - just be resourceful and boom! You've just created nature's gym πŸ₯³

You should be engaging in activites everyday that challenge you both physically and intellectually/mentally. Because if you're not pushing yourself, how can you expect to grow as a person? πŸ€”
-
This can be something as simple as learning a new word, to making conversation with a stranger at the supermarket, to even taking your workout to the next level. πŸ₯Š
-
I recently started a personal "challenge/movement" called where I essentially commit myself to learn at least one new flip every week, no matter the circumstances. Hence the name no excuses. My body stays broken, I don't remember what it feels like to not be sore, but the satisfaction you get after you achieve what you set out to do is a feeling like no other. Go ahead and try out and tell me you don't feel better about yourself. πŸ”†
-
On a side note, brownie points to whoever can name the flip I'm doing here. πŸ’

Good morning!

I'm stopping by to announce a new series I will be taking part in (and hopefully have others join too)! The series is called

The purpose of this series is to motivate and inspire people to set at least one goal they wish to achieve by the end of the week and make active, conscious efforts towards it. This can relate to anything, not just fitness related!

Each week I will attempt to learn a new fitness skill, more specifically a flipping skill e.g. backflip, frontflip, gainer, etc. This week of my series I decided to learn the roundoff to backflip. I spent nearly 5 hours breaking my bones, eating dirt, falling on my back, all in an effort to learn this move. Check the video out for the results 😏 Hope to see you all participating in this movement!

Hey guys, This is recorded over a span of nearly 5 hours, shooting in 3 different parks. I'm starting a new series called where I am going to atte...
