How to build a wood fired cowboy Hibachi part 1
To build a cowboy hibachi will take time and one will
Need fabrication welding skills and black smithing skills.
Building the uprights and cross bar.
Materials needed 10 feet of 3/4” round stock. 22” 3/4” black steel pipe two 1/2” steel nuts.
Note it is very important that the 3/4” round stock fits smoothly into the 3/4” black steel pipe.
Cut the 3/4 “ round stock into three pieces . Two at 36” long and what’s left should be 48” long. These three parts will become the uprights and the cross bar.
Cut two pieces off the 3/4” black pipe at 2 1/2” long.
Weld one each to the top of the uprights. This will
Become the sleeves for the cross bar. Make sure the sleeves are centered and level and welded at a right angle to rack upright.

Over the past few years there has been a lot of interest in my “Cowboy Hibachis.” Although I am honored and somewhat surprised by all the interest in them, the simple truth is that I just don’t have a lot of free time these days to devote to building just one, let alone to go into full production. I really do not have the proper tooling or shop facilities to go into business to build them. Each one Is handcrafted and custom built. No two are the same. With that being said, I have been considering the idea of posting the information and instructions on how I go about building these wood fired grills. I still want to maintain all my rights to my design, however I am willing to share, as long as I get the credit for my designs. If there is interest in this, please let me know.
