We aren’t talking enough about the Saturn / Neptune conjunction and the pressure / tension / self-doubt / confusion its creating.

With Saturn retrograde, currently in gate 36, the gate of crisis, and Neptune retrograde, currently in gate 25, the gate of the spirit of the self, we are in a crisis of choice.

neptune wants to dissolve the known.
saturn wants to define it.

Saturn in Gate 36 is here to grow us through profound emotional crisis. Retrograde, this can also feel like a collapsed solar plexus.

It can feel like feeling lost in the cesspool of “too much” information everytime you open this app.

It can feel like looking out at the “circumstances” and feeling like there is nothing we can do to prevent horrible things from happening.

It can feel like wondering “what is the point”? If everything is dissolving, who am i? What do I cling to? Who do I become?

What do I strive for? Where do I belong?

It takes a tremendous amount of courage and willingness to stay grounded, focused, and courageous inside of this energy.

With neptune in Gate 25, the gate of the spirit of the self, perhaps we are being invited to persevere. Even if all we have to give to a situation is 2% more.

2% more hope.
2% more lovingness.
2% more curiosity.
2% more staying power.
2% more innovation.

Neptune’s natural inclination is to dissolve into the void. Neptune has no problem with a little bit of fantasy and collapse. But, retrograde in Aries, Neptune forms courage. A cellular boundary. Grit. A backbone.

Neptune Rx in Aries supports us to find our fire. She turns us into the ouroborous, the dragon eating it’s own tail. She forces us to choose to turn that last thread of hope into a whole damn meal.

You are not lost. You are on a precipice. Dig in.

In the spirit of re-introducing / introducing my work, I want to share that I love frameworks and maps that track our cyclical, spiralic nature.

That give us seasons as touch stones and archetypes as torches so that we don’t lost our way travelling down into the deep deep places of soul.

As a story doula, I am also an ontological cartographer. My instinct is wired and trained to track how the individual and collective body is living and being along the banks of our shared somatic river and how we are creating new stories and cultures there.

I got this from my grandfather.

Not a certification. Or a course. Or a training.

I come from a long lineage of story *weavers* who were not just interested in the *telling* of new stories, but the emergence of what wants to occur.

I was baked in the southern banks of the Mississippi River. Liberation consciousness is written on my soul and in my bones.

Without those first prayers and songs for deliverance sung at dawn and at twighlight and in the hottest parts of day, I would not be here.

But my ancestors were master Weavers.

And they knew that the shackles would not be broken by “contentment” with “reality and vitriol and hatred and screaming at the masters, but by becoming better storytellers / storyweavers / culturecrafters.

They. Were. Cunning. Wielding myth like knives sharpened on the teeth of the gods they worship.

Liberation, a song they sung.
Liberation, a remembrance of who they were before.
Liberation, a holy sacrament and a fragrant offering to the seasons, to the moon, to the stars, and to the sun, collaborators in their campaign for freedom.

I am an ontological cartographer. A real life story weaver. A sorceress of personal futures.

I am a story doula. And storywork is my offering to all who its for.

This work is my mythopoeisis. My soul’s attempt to create something else. And to keep listening (with my whole body) to the energy of emergence coursing through my veins.

Imaging futures that are pleasurable, alive, winning, delicious, and as free as possible from the coercions of systemic “powers” is the root of all storywork and the point of any kind of “manifestation” process.

Including prayer. And spellwork. Ritual. Dance. Song. Protest. Divination. Futurewriting. And so on.

I’m not here to convince anyone of anything. If you find yourself cringeing at spirituality, astrology, occult wisdom, earth based mysticism, myth, ancestral work, shadow work, flower essences, “quantum manifestation (even though I never use that term), my content and offerings are not for you.

I can feel that there are quite a few people here who cringe at these things based on my dms. This is a kind invitation to clear your field and disconnect from my offerings.

My track record shows that its only gonna get worse from here.
studio offerings are not for people who need more proof that the Goddess is listening.

Or that your cells are the living embodiment of your internal stories, culture pools, and inherited ancestral myths.

This is not for those who can’t fathom that maybe one of our most important assignments is soul remembrance and creating from the depths pf who you are in essence with no compromises.

Our offerings are for wild-hearted, soul-forwars intuitives who know that their voices / art / offerings matter to someone on this planet and that their soul-level vision moght be a medicine for even the most subtle corners of this earth.

This space is for folks who have a sense of mf wonder. And are devoted to bring their soul poece forward no matter what atrocities the little square peg men are stirring up on world stage. 🍃✨⚡️

Who am I to write a manifesto for culture midwifery?

+ a nobody with some audacity
+ a q***r black woman following in the lineage of my ancestors and their kin
+ a poet
+ someone who fiddles around on the internet
+ a dreamer, a desirer

When I see myself as an inherent part of the whole, I see my impact as substantial.

Even if all the impact I have in my lifetime comes from chatting with the elders at my local coffee shop and getting to know their names and their stories.

Or apologizing from the heart.

Impact spreads from the subtle to the material. And it always has the potentials to spread further than we can consciously know. What happens when we know that in our bones?

Creative midwifery is not about journaling exercises or telling you exactly how to grow your monthly income by $8k a month in under 5 steps in an ever changing market.

In the last year, through coaching and holding space, I can’t tell you how many people have said to me, “What used to work isn’t working anymore.”

Yes. So many people are here right now because Earth is changing, our cultures are shifting, the market is evolving.

And there are a multitude of stories we could tell about it —capitalism, climate, the coaching industry, biden. There are so many people and places and things to blame.

We’ve made “ease” into a dogma.

And if its not easy then its “wrong” for us.

And I’m not saying it has to be “hard”. None of this is black and white.

Instead of teaching ourselves to breathe and open through the contractions of change and meaning making, we give up. We collapse. We disconnect. We give up. We doubt ourselves into hiding.

We demolish the beauty we’ve built.

The creative process doesn’t have to be “hard”. But the deeper you go into your path, the deeper the risk.

Its just risky.

Its risky to show up to your dharma.
Its risky to make bids for connection.
Its risky to love people and build friendship.
Its risky to follow a vision.
Its risky to build a viable business.
Its risky to trust yourself to move through the mystery.
Its risky. Its all risk.

Journal prompts won’t save us from risk.

And thats part of why, even as an avid journaler myself, I’m not always keen on assigning them to anyone.

I’m keen on inviting presence. I’m keen on the assignment of *actually* leaning in. Building rapport with your medicine. Crafting. Expressing. Sharing.

Its the body that needs our courageous confessions. Its the Earth that calls for our stories, our willingness, and our voices. Its our futures and our descendants that benefit from our physical movement forward and our willingness to be transformed by creative risk and devotion.

My creative bravery is tear-stained.
My creative bravery trembles.
My creative bravery sometimes self-sabotages.
My creatice bravery is just bravado some days.

And this will never stop me from dreaming. imagining. and poeting futures into being.

I may not have every degree known to mankind. Fck. I don’t even have a high school education, even if my university accepted me — on a waitlist with a scratchy ACT score of 16 in math.

But I have my heart in my chest. And I have a legacy of ancestors behind me who cracked the world wide open for ordinary, ordinary freedoms using the power of story, poetry, and devotional creation.

This is the power and the legacy of story, narrative design, and integrative narrative medicine.

Story is ancestor-invoking, change-making medicine.

And it doesn’t care about how smart you are. It doesn’t care about where you grew up. It doesn’t care what college you went to. It doesn’t care about your accolades or your platforms.

When the medicine of storywork calls you as a vessel, in whatever medium, it will equip you with whatever you need to speak futures into being using the sound of your voice or your hands or your presence.

Why do I know this?

Well how did I go from homeless to housed? How did I go from heartbroken and demolished to heartwhole and alive? How do the stars know us enough to pattern potentials into our charts?

Story is prophecy.
Story is medicine.
Story doesn’t care how brave you are.

Are you willing to be a conduit and a witness?

Thats all story needs to know.

Today was the very first day of cracking open your charts in Venus Readings.

I knew that I would enjoy this, but I didn’t anticipate just how much warmth and elation I would feel at the end of this day.

Perhaps you might’ve wondered how Venus fit into the landscape of my work and why I chose to weave her into my Summer offerings.

Well, I will tell you.

I feel that Venus holds so many keys to the way we story our future, because Venus’ medicine is all about the heart.

Venus’ medicine is heart medicine. And do you know what you can do in the world with a little bit of heart medicine? A lot.

Imagine a culture with love pouring out of every spine and every crevice.

Imagine cultures of honor and regard for the ways we each hold the sweetness of l i f e in our blood.

Imagine cultures of radical self understanding and grace for the other.

Imagine a tender, tender world.

I honestly feel like Venus medicine holds a culture-shifting code because she comes through the door of the heart.

Sends chills down my spine.

This offering may move from “Lavender and Lemon” to core staple in my cabinet of narrative potions.

And as someone whose astrology is deeply ruled by Venus, hell. She might even become central in my work.

Only time will tell.

I’ve decided to open 3 more readings — then thats it for the season.

There is an understanding that all earth forms are relatives, part of an extended ecological family with common origins and ancestry. This is not the Western way, though subtle aspects of this framework survived my lineage, and my grandmother would certainly speak to plants as her relatives.
