The official forecast is in, and it's a good one: above-normal snowfall is favored for Ski Santa Fe for the 2026-2027 season. Check out OpenSnow’s more detailed forecast below.

Confidence remains high that a very strong, or "super", El Niño will prevail through the winter of 2026-2027, and if anything, confidence has only grown in this being among the strongest on record.

To craft this winter forecast for Ski Santa Fe, the OpenSnow team identified 9 winters over the past 50 years with similarly strong-to-super El Niño—plus other key oceanic and atmospheric signals in common—and applied a weighted comparison methodology.

We fought to the very end, but the 2025/26 winter season will come to a close earlier than we hoped. Unusually warm temperatures, a challenging snowpack, and no new storms on the horizon have led us to make the decision to close on March 22nd.

The groomers and the terrain park continue to offer fun and diverse skiing and riding. The mornings are chilly and fast, and by the afternoon, corn and slush skiing is in full effect. Don’t miss the warm afternoons on the deck at Totemoff’s during the final ten days of the season.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to our staff, who worked tirelessly to deliver a top-notch mountain experience throughout the season.

Additionally, a huge thank you goes out to all our loyal passholders and guests who visited us this season. We appreciate seeing each of you on the slopes, and we look forward to you joining us for the 2026/27 season.
