Adam grew up in LA to a family of musicians. He fell in love with latin dancing and particularly with Bachata in 2018, when he first visited the DR. Since then, he’s returned to the island yearly, diving deeper into the culture, musicology, and history of the art form with each visit. His teaching style is focused on playfulness and cultural awareness.
Cat Gloria is a dance instructor from Miami. She specializes in teaching bachata, a street dance from the Dominican Republic, and heels. She has been dancing since age three and began teaching at age 16. She founded Back 2 Bachata, a DC events company to create spaces for authentic bachata. She currently teaches at events across the U.S. Her teaching style focuses on the essence and creativity of the dance.
Dancing Bachata has been a form of therapy, an artistic outlet, and a conduit for meaningful friendships and community in their lives. Together, Cat and Adam teach to help inspire confidence, creativity, and community through movement.
