Here's the path a lot of folks have taken to join our gym..
1. If it's something you want to try out before you commit, we offer a free class every Saturday at 10am, it's a great opportunity to get a feel for what we do and it's a free workout, can't go wrong!
2. Contact trainer to schedule on-ramp sessions where you learn the many functional movements we perform on a regular basis. Visit crossfit

santacruzcentral.com to view trainer bios and retrieve contact info.
2. After the sessions are complete, you are "cleared" for the classes. At that time you are eligible for the discounted rate of $100/month.
3. If you prefer, it is always an option to work one-on-one with a trainer (price is dependent on trainer).
4. The regular rates apply once the intro-month is complete.

Unlike yesterday, today didn’t involve much space; it was simple and uncomplicated; it was effective and challenging…It was just you, and a set of dumbbells!
Sometimes the simplest seeming workouts,
can be surprisingly difficult!

Workout (for Saturday 6/20):
Teams of Two
12 Minute AMRAP:
10/8 Calorie Row
12 DB Bench Press
10 Burpee Box Step Overs
12 Pull Ups
*One partner works, while other rests. Switch whenever
Rest 3 Minutes
80/70 Calorie Row
80 Push Press (95/65 #)
80 Toes to Bar
80 Hand Release Push Ups
400m Run (together)
*20 Minute cap on part 2

Today was a game in getting the body to do what it’s being asked to do versus what it wants to do. For most of us, as the weight on an overhead barbell gets heavier the body instinctively wants to dip under it (push jerk instead of push press). But also for most of us, because of the demand on mobility, most of us find push pressing heavy dumbbells much easier than push jerking them. Today mind had to override instinct.

On a workout like today’s do you know what pace you want to row those first 50/43 calories at or are you just shooting in the dark? It can be extremely helpful if you know what your “pace” is on a workout like today’s to prevent yourself from going out too “hot” and then falling apart on the cleans.

6-8 Pendlay Row
