In this video, Joey talks about the importance of receiving the ball and moving directly to your throwing hand in a straight line.

Extra movement during the transfer wastes time and can be the difference between throwing a runner out and watching them slide in safely.

The goal is simple: receive, transfer, and throw as efficiently as possible.

Clean movements create quicker pop times, more consistent throws, and better results behind the plate.

One of the biggest mistakes we see with young catchers is beating the ball to the spot with the glove and working “down” to it.

In this drill, Joey has the catcher keep the glove on the ground until the ball is already in the air. This helps train the catcher to work from underneath the baseball and present low pitches more effectively.

Learning how to receive from the ground up can make a huge difference when it comes to stealing low strikes and becoming a more reliable receiver behind the plate.

One of the most common things we see with younger hitters is the back elbow getting too high in the setup or load.

When that happens, it can make it harder to stay connected, get on plane early, and move efficiently through the swing. ⚾️

In this video, Joey breaks down:
• Why it happens
• How it can affect the swing
• A few simple cues and drills we use to help athletes clean it up

Sometimes small adjustments can make a huge difference in consistency and barrel control.

Learning how to move efficiently early on sets the foundation for long-term development.

Your hands and forearms do a lot more than just hold the bat or baseball. 👊⚾️

In our newest blog, Jen Taft breaks down how grip strength impacts:
• Bat speed & barrel control
• Exit velocity & power transfer
• Pitch velocity & command
• Arm health & durability

She also explains the different types of grip strength, why they matter for baseball players, and how athletes can train them effectively.

Small details can make a huge difference in performance and staying healthy throughout a season.

One of the biggest things hitters struggle with is getting too rotational and cutting off the swing early.

In this video, Joey goes over a couple drills we use to help athletes learn how to stay through the ball and create better extension through contact. ⚾️

We worked on:
• One-hand swings to feel extension and direction through the middle of the field
• Setting the tee farther out front to reinforce staying through contact instead of pulling off

The goal is to help hitters stay adjustable, use the whole field, and create more consistent barrel contact without selling out for pull-side power.
