Samba de Roda serves as a vibrant testament to the profound legacy of Afro-Brazilian heritage, commemorated and transmitted across generations through music, dance, and deeply symbolic ceremonies that honor the natural world. Having had the privilege of witnessing and participating in this tradition, I am overcome with emotional humility, contemplating the immense enrichment that embracing the rhythms and dance of this heritage has brought to my existence.

We had another year of Dancing in the Streets in Santa Cruz and it was spectacular! A large and beautiful celebration of diversity and community of all ages. Here is one of the ~Dance of Brazil~ contributions, created in 2011. Choreography and design: Marsea Marquis with Lyndsey Loosley as choreographer for Ondas dancers with wings. So many bright stars here whom have gone on to create independently and with others. Keep sharing, stay inspired and don't stop dancing!
