Fast time qualifier. Heat winner. Main event winner. 🧹

4.12.26: Rok Sonoma Race 2

Started the day by winning a set of tires! Big thank you to for tires + a fun, rainy-day race! 🌧️🏎️

Qualified 5th despite a spin that took us out before all the laps were complete.

Finished the heat P4.
And a Pre-final finish of P5.

We’d driven on wet tires all day, but as the tracked dried out and the sun peeked from behind the clouds, we made the switch to slicks for the final event.

Miles pushed hard and held steady in the fifth spot…until he pushed just a bit too hard as the white flag flew. He slid wide and got sucked into the muddy edge- ending the final race with a DNF.

Despite the bummer finish, it’s always a great day with !

Our emotions bubbled over as Miles took the checkered flag in ALL THREE of his jr classes last week! We cried. We cheered. We held gratitude and grief close. We celebrated these amazing moments knowing our Papa was watching down and supporting our family during our first holiday without him. What an amazing way to honor one of our favorite humans, !

All the training and all the strength building Miles has been doing paid off! Plus the cars were dialed in!!

Thank you to for a wonderful week! It isn’t easy, but we all certainly appreciate your hard work in making it all happen!! 🫶🏽

🔥 I think we can say, today was a success at the Silver State Winter Nationals! 🏁 Came out on top in 3 out of 4 heats! Las Vegas, we’re just getting started! 💪

And that’s a wrap on the 2024 Best in the West - NASCAR Youth Western States Championship!

Miles took home THREE championship trophies!

🏆 Jr Honda: 3rd Place
🏆 Jr Animal: 1st Place ✨✨
🏆 Jr 160: 2nd Place

p.s. that second place trophy was only 1 point behind the first place. Pretty darn close!

Congrats to and on their podiums too! We all worked hard to show up and show out!

Sonoma Speedway was a beast. A hillside track that tested our driver and our pit crew. With uphill and downhill driving. On the gas pedal and off. Needing just the right timing. And just the right set up.

The first day on the track was a 🔥 start! Taking the 🏁 win in the Jr Honda heat race & subsequently placing all three straight from the heats to the A-Mains! Miles was one of ONLY TWO junior drivers to place right to the A-Mains in ALL THREE jr. classes. 🙌🏾

Our luck took a turn the next day during the A-Mains and didn’t end up with the finishes we had aimed for. Jr Honda had some collisions which took us out, twice. During Jr Animal, Miles was passing for third when he was railroaded on the outside losing his positioning. Then as the checkered flag came out, Miles was collected in a collision he couldn’t avoid and didn’t finish the race. Ooph. Our final race, Jr 160, had neither a car nor driver with the right speed. Such a tough day overall.

Bummer, yet SO SO PROUD of the race season this kid has had. Sonoma wrapped up both the Western States Championship and, for us, the National Championship.

>>This kid has competed against the best in the west and the best in the country and has declared himself a top contender on the track in both categories. Reminding ourselves that we are blessed to be bummed that our expectations were so high. Not every racer gets that.

Special shout out to our friend, Jaxton who took his first national podium with the checkered in Jr Animal! You did it, dude!
