With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Sensei, Dave Long. He was a dedicated teacher and one who gave so much of himself to the sport of Judo.

Silicon Valley Judo had the honor of sharing some time with him on the mat, where he taught us techniques and a boundless love of Judo. He began helping at the dojo in early 2024 until his move to Washington/Oregon where he could be close to his grandchildren.

I personally knew him since I was a young kid, learning Judo. For me, he has always been a steadfast pillar of the Judo community. He is sorely missed.
