The Little Glass House

The Little Glass House A midcentury modern bungalow It was extensively rebuilt and expanded in 2001 to embrace the outdoor lifestyle. It also has a home office.

Nestled in the canyons of Santa Barbara, The Little Glass House was a 1950’s ranch that was transformed into a mid-century modern abode by Nick Noyes of San Francisco. The ceilings have been raised to peak at twelve feet with walls of glass and clerestory windows over the French doors. It has a southern exposure and is infused with light. Designed with a great room at the center, the three bedroom

suites are oriented to provide privacy and separation. My husband and I bought the house five years ago and added central air, a large window in the office, new floors, and decorated it with a nod to the organic, natural beauty of Santa Barbara. Rustic furnishings and wide plank oak floors compliment the house’s modern architecture. We hired JGS Landscape Architecture to turn our backyard into yet another living space with an outdoor shower, fire pit, and redwood hot tub. At just under 1900 square feet, the house lives large and is the ideal place to relax and entertain as it effortlessly blends indoor-outdoor spaces. With views of the mountains and the Channel Islands, this home truly feels like a private oasis. My home and living in Santa Barbara have inspired me to start my own design business, edb designs.
