A big THANK YOU to the Santa Barbara sports community for allowing us to work with you for the past seven years. In that time, the tiny staff at Presidio Sports has worked hard to publish over 22,000 articles, successfully building a consistent daily audience and a strong brand in local sports. But the growth in revenue has not kept up and we've made the very difficult decision to end our day-to-day news service.

Santa Barbara has a long tradition of daily sports news and we’re confident this incredible community will find a way to continue to showcase and support the many accomplishments and incredible feats that inspire and enrich us through athletics.

Thanks again to all of those who have been a part of the Presidio Sports experience: the athletes, the coaches, the sponsors, the Presidio staff, the readers, and so many, many others.

There are two mega playoff games in town this weekend as undefeated Bishop Diego hosts undefeated Palmdale in a CIF game on Friday night at La Playa Stadium (7 pm). Then on Sunday UCSB soccer has an NCAA Tournament game at Harder Stadium (6 pm)

CIF Championship match here they come!! Laguna Blanca's girls volleyball team beat Archer in Tuesday's CIF semifinal match, reserving a spot for the Owls in this weekend's CIF Division 4AA championship. Bishop Diego posted an impressive 53-47 CIF victory over Newbury Park on Friday night. The Cardinals amassed 521 rushing yards, 269 of them from Mike Soracco alone, to win the Northern Division playoff game.
