The end of summer getting you down? Get in the back to school spirit! Join the Brawlin’ Betties in Santa Barbara, CA for an afternoon of scrimmage fun!

WHEN: Sunday, August 31, 2025
- Check in: 4PM-4:30PM
- Scrimmage expectations review (mandatory): 4:30-4:45PM
- On skate warm up: 4:45-5:00PM
- First whistle: 5:00PM
WHERE: Roller Rink at Earl Warren Showgrounds
WHAT: All levels, all gender, informal scrimmage
HOW MUCH:
- Skaters: $15-$25 sliding scale ($25 for walkups at the door without preregistration)
- Spectators: Suggested minimum donation of $10, bring your own chair
- Volunteers/officials/medics: FREE!

Sign up by August 20 to get a sliding scale registration fee!
If you do not sign up by August 20, you are still welcome to join for $25 at the door.

All payments, including registration fees, are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization

Teens: join SB’s local roller derby team, the Brawlin’ Betties, for an afternoon of fun and learning about this amazing sport! Meet team players, learn the rules, and watch players demonstrate the game. The Derby Justice League will introduce derby rules and participants will have the opportunity to sign up as non-skating officials for the next scrimmage to test their knowledge and get further exposure to our all-gender and inclusive sports community. For teens in grades 7-12, ages 12-18; registration encouraged. Snacks provided!

This open scrimmage will have a modified ruleset and reduced officiating staff. Skaters should bring both black and white jerseys. There will be specified rookie-only and skill-level jams to ensure everyone gets safe track time and valuable experience. Skater preregistration is a sliding scale of $10-20, walk ups $20 at the door. Officials and volunteers are free!
Spectators are welcome with a suggested donation of $5 or more (BYO chair). Spectator tickets available on our website or at the door! More details on the registration form. DM or comment with any questions!
