Ozone found one reserve handle with a defect in it produced sometime between 2021 and 2025 and in an abundance of caution has issued a recall for all handles for the Light, Ultralite, and Cockpit Rescue containers. The new ones will look like the top photo above, and the old ones will look like the bottom. If you have one and we haven’t already reached out to you, let us know! Ozone is replacing all handles, free of charge when you send in your old one. We know many of these handles have been used for many years, with dozens of deployments on a single handle, so it’s unlikely you’d experience a failure, but “unlikely” is a higher probability than 0, so hit us up!

Occasionally we get asked what the cool international destinations are. Our friends over at have the 2025 itinerary up! Hit them up for Macedonia or Mongolia tours! Tours are more than just opportunities for flying. For us, “the best flying” is not just about how far you flew, but about who you got to fly with and what the scenery is like. It’s a cultural experience, connections, friends, food, etc. And having a great bunch of professional guides makes all the difference.

The Pine season is on! It was a little N for most but a few intrepid pilots managed to send it off the N side and make it back to Ojai. An auspicious start to the year! Given that we haven’t been able to fly Pine the last 2 years, we’ll be making up for lost time by trying to fly it as much as possible this year!
