Rifle ranges of 100yd and 200yd; Pistol ranges of 25 and 50 yds are open to the public on most weekends. Three shotgun trap ranges and one s***t range are open to the public on Sat, Sun, and Wed.

Falling Plates: Saturday, September 5, 2026 at WCGC!
Action Pistol Match takes place on the 50 yard pistol range. Contestants compete against the clock to knock down six steel plates mounted on racks located at the 25 yard line. Competition starts 10 yards from the plates and progresses backward to distances of 15, 20 and 25 yards.

Please check-in at the WCGC Rifle/Pistol Range prior to Pistol Match to pay fees. Please get your hand stamped as proof of payment for the RSO prior to shooter's briefing. Thank you!

Summer Trap League 2026 Finale
What a wonderful Summer Trap League we had this year at WCGC!

Beautiful evenings under the Santa Barbara sun were filled with excitement and camaraderie as we shot clays and celebrated our passion for shooting trap.

We are thrilled to share that our end-of-year celebration was a resounding success! The event featured exciting prizes, an entertaining Annie Oakley Shoot, and an amazing catered dinner by Rudy's Mexican Restaurant. The food was outstanding, but what truly made the evening special was the support from family and friends who came out to support our participants.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to making the Summer Trap League 2026 a success. Special thanks to our generous sponsors, whose support helped us create unforgettable experiences for all participants.

WCGC Steel Challenge Fun Shoot - Join Us August 30, 2026!

WCGC is thrilled to announce our very own Steel Challenge Fun Shoot on the WCGC 200 Yard Range. Led and organized by WCGC Range Safety Officer - Shayne Kleinebecker!

The Steel Challenge is one of the fastest-growing shooting sports in the country, known for its speed, accuracy, and excitement. Competitors of all experience levels can participate, making this a perfect opportunity for both seasoned shooters and newcomers who want to try something new.

Event Details:
Date: Sunday, August 30, 2026
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: WCGC 200-Yard Range
Event Type: One-Day Fun Shoot

Event Structure:
Stages/Runs: 3 rounds of fire across 3 stages, totaling 9 rounds.
Fi****ms: Pistols only (no rifles or shotguns).
Ammunition: Participants must supply their own—minimum of 45 rounds, 100 rounds recommended.
Cost: Members - $30, Non-Members - $40 (Premium Members shoot free).
Required: Eye and ear protection (mandatory). Holsters and mag carriers are optional but recommended.

Registration & Payment:
Payment and scorecards will be handled at the R/P Range Check-In. A paid scorecard is required to participate.

Event Day Schedule:
11:00 AM: Optional Training Class (recommended for new shooters).
11:30 AM: Safety Briefing (mandatory for all participants).
11:45 AM: Event Start—squads will be assigned to stages.

What to Bring:
Your own pistol and ammunition (minimum 45 rounds).
Eye and ear protection.
Proper range attire (hat, sunscreen, water, etc.).
Snacks and water (no food will be provided).

Notes:
No loaner items available—bring your own gear.
Attendance at the safety briefing is required to participate.
This is a fun shoot format, not a sanctioned match.

Carl Westfall Memorial Sporting Clays Fun Shoot - August 1, 2026

Yesterday, WCGC welcomed members and guests for the Carl Westfall Memorial Sporting Clays Fun Shoot. Under beautiful sunny skies, shooters enjoyed a day filled with shooting clays. Special thanks to our dedicated WCGC staff and volunteers who made this event possible, and a huge shout-out to Greg Voight for crafting such a fantastic course.

Congratulations to the winners:

2-Gun Action Match at WCGC! Save the Date! This Sunday, August 2, 2026!

Competitors use two different fi****ms -- a modern sporting rifle (MSR), that is, a rifle built on an AR-platform and a pistol. Matches generally involve courses where the shooter must move through different stages and engage targets in a variety of different positions. Each stage will generally require the use of different fi****ms and require the shooter to transition between them.

Come join us for a fun and challenging shooting match. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, we welcome shooters of all skill levels. Our experienced staff will be on hand to help you every step of the way, from providing safety instructions to guiding you through the process.

Don't miss out on this great opportunity to improve your shooting skills and have a great time!

The targets might include clay pigeons, cardboard silhouettes, steel targets of varying sizes and anything else the match organizer designates as a target. Distances of the targets might vary from 1 yard to 200 yards or anything in between. The shooter who hits the most targets -- and avoids certain "no shoot" ones -- in the least amount of time is the winner.

Match rules abide closely by those set up by the International Multi-Gun Association (IMGA) or the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA), which regulates some matches. Each of these organizations has guidelines and rules, but the ability to adapt them for specific matches is what makes 2-gun competition dynamic and exciting.

Just as it is with the practical pistol matches, 2-gun simulates combat or self-defense situations. A stage provides a certain scenario for using one or more of the guns in a specific sequence. Each stage is each match will usually be different than any you've shot before.
