M1 Racing is a Melges 24 junior sailing team based out of the Santa Cruz Yacht Club in Santa Cruz, California. Our goal is to get our boat M1, and our competitive junior team to the starting line at the Melges 24 Worlds in Miami in November of 2016. We are actively seeking corporate and private sponsorship to help us with travel, lodging, sails and rigging. We will have a sponsorship package avail

able on request shortly. We will be one of the most experienced Melges 24 junior teams on the starting line. To date, our young skipper Ian has been the helmsman for all of our regattas including the 2013 Melges 24 Worlds, and the rest of our team has sailed together in a Melges 24 PCCs, a Melges 24 Nationals and the Rolex Big Boat Series. We have also sailed together in a dozen Melges 24 regattas on the San Francisco Bay.

This weekend our team took M1 down to the yard for a little maintenance and minor peromance adjustments. Particularly we focused on optimizing the keel for upwind speed. Josselyn and Ian also put in some good work polishing the hull, getting us ready for those Santa Barbara waters. Looking forward to next weekend!
