Do you think learning self-defense makes you safe? Learning self-defense means you learn how to fight. If you have to fight, it means you have been attacked. If you're attacked, you're no longer safe. So if you can only use your skills to be safe when you are not safe, you are counter productive. The best way to be safe is to have situational awareness so that you can navigate dangerous situations, prevent an attack from happening through deescalation or communication skills, and show up empowered in your voice and body language. Predators often pick people who they think look "weak" so let's gain inner strength and project outer strength.
