This is how tour players handle tight lies with confidence.

When there’s no grass under the ball and you’ve got no room to miss, the wrong move can lead to a chunk, blade, or worse.

Here’s how to stay in control:

3 Setup Adjustments:
1. Get closer to the ball
2. Raise your hands slightly
3. Play the ball off your back foot

2 Swing Keys:
• Keep the swing steep
• Keep the clubface skyward through the strike

This setup keeps the club from digging—and your confidence from disappearing.

Comment “LIE” if tight turf makes you second guess your swing.

Set up this 2-step training station:

1. Stick an alignment stick 4–5 inches in front of the ball.
2. Place a towel just behind the ball—about a clubhead back.

What it tells you:
• Hit the stick? You’re coming over the top.
• Hit the towel? You’re hanging back or flipping.

Do it clean?
You’ll compress the ball, shallow the club, and rotate through impact—like a player.
