101 looks good on you.

Before Snowbird opened its doors in 1971, Junior Bounous was already here—helping lay out the runs, shape the mountain and build a ski culture that generations would come to call home.

From being the first to ski Pipeline to becoming Snowbird’s first Ski School Director, his adventurous spirit and love of skiing helped shape Snowbird into what it is today.

Today, Junior and his family celebrated 101 while enjoying the scenic views on their way to Mineral Basin to visit the new bench honoring his wife, Maxine.

Happy birthday to a true original, a Snowbird legend and one of the greatest powder skiers to ever do it.

Here’s to many more, Junior 💙💚

Congratulations to Snowbird Athlete Thorn Merrill on winning the Outside TV Ultimate Athlete Challenge after competing in head to head ski, mountaineering, climbing and mountain biking events. 🏆

We’re not surprised at all, Thorn is a machine in the mountains and we’re proud to have him on our team!
