Our first round of sign-ups are right around the corner on April 15th. Below is a quick summary of sign-up dates, prices and swim levels.
I am excited to let you know that Gabe will be back to teach this summer. Morning lessons will be a mixture of Gabe, Rowan and myself for session 1&2 and Maggie returns in July!
Your feedback let me know that staggered sign-ups are preferred, therefore, there will be a later registration for the July/ August lessons.
April 15th registration will be for :
May Session 12-22
Session 1 June 2-12
Session 2 June 16-26
All private lessons May-July (If they fill up, teachers are usually interested in adding more to their schedule, so please reach out if that happens)
June 17th registration will be for:
Session 3 June 30-July 9.
Mon-Wed both Weeks
Mini 1 week session (July 14-17)
Session 4 July 21-31
Private lessons will be offered throughout the first 2 weeks of August.
Group Lesson Rate: $80 for 8 lessons and will be pro-rated as needed.
Private Lessons: $50 per lesson 30 min. $25 for 15 min.
Below is a quick refresher on the levels at Wayside Swim School to help you select the correct level:l for your swimmer:
Level 1: Preschool level (sitting on stairs) is for ages 3-5. (Any student younger than 3 needs to be enrolled in a private lesson for safety purposes.) In this class we focus on comfort and playing while learning how to submerge, blow out underwater using our mouth and nose. How to kick with the board as well as the beginning muscle memory for front and back crawl arms.
Level 2: Beginner level (need to be able to stand in 2 1/2 ft water with head above) for students ages 5 and up or those who have passed level 1. Primarily focused on front crawl with correct side breathing, backcrawl and introduction to elementary backstroke.
Level 3: Intermediate level for those who can swim the length of the pool with front and back crawls without stopping. Will complete learning elementary backstroke and begin to learn sidestroke and breaststroke kick.
Level 4: Increase stamina for distance of front and back crawl, perfect sidestroke and breaststroke, introduction to butterfly stroke.
