Today I am proud to officially announce that I will be seeking re-election to represent District 4 on the Calhoun County Council.
Serving the citizens of District 4 and our community in Calhoun County has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
As a lifelong resident of St. Matthews, my commitment to public service began as a volunteer and founder of the St. Matthews Area Revitalization Team (SMART). I later had the privilege of serving on St. Matthews Town Council before being elected to the Calhoun County Council in 2011, where I currently serve as Vice Chairman. I serve on several County committees including the Administration and Finance Committee, and I Chair the Judiciary Committee. I am Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Corporation for the County.
At the local level, I represent Calhoun County on the Board of the Three Rivers Solid Waste Authority and the Board of the Lake Marion Regional Water Agency.
Beyond our County, I am honored to represent Calhoun County across South Carolina through service with the South Carolina Association of Counties, where I have served on the Board of Directors since 2018 and currently hold the position of Second Vice President. I also serve as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the South Carolina Counties Insurance Trust and have been a member of the Insurance Trust Board since 2022, helping oversee programs that support counties throughout our state.
Outside of public service, I am proud to own and operate St. Matthews Furniture Company and to have built my business right here in the community that raised me. My wife, Caroline, and I have been married for 20 years, and we are proud parents of one son who will be attending the University of South Carolina this fall.
Calhoun County is home, and serving the people of District 4 has always been personal to me. I look forward to continuing to work hard for our community and humbly ask for your support.
