Newtown Sandy Hook Vintage Base Ball Club Vintage Base Ball Club The Newtown Sandy Hooks were formed in 2004 by Raymond Shaw and began play in May of 2005.

The team generally plays any style of base ball common to the 19th Century including the early underhand (1860’s) to the more challenging (1880’s) overhand game. The club is made up of avid ball players between the ages of 20 and 50 and play a competitive style of ball reminiscent of the era. The team also conducts kid’s clinics and looks forward to playing in special events and non-profit fundrai

sers. The club travels throughout the northeast and plays most of their home matches at McLaughlin Vineyards in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. The club has been instrumental in bringing awareness of the age old sport to Western Connecticut and hopes in future years to form an area league to help promote the sport’s compelling assets.
