Closing the loop on an exceptional outcome and an incredible moment for our organization, youth esports, our parents, our coaches, and most importantly, our players. 💙❤️
This past weekend in Orlando, nine Affinity Esports players and their families had the opportunity to compete on the national stage at ESC Nationals, hosted at Full Sail University. For our Rocket League and Minecraft Bedwars Club Teams, this was more than just a tournament. It was a chance to travel, compete, represent their team (and State of Connecticut), support one another, and experience what youth esports can become when it is structured, intentional, and supported.
Moments like this challenge the status quo.
They push back against the negative stigma that so many people still carry about gaming and esports. They show that when kids are given the right environment, gaming can become a pathway for confidence, teamwork, discipline, communication, resilience, leadership, friendship, and opportunity.
We owe it to these players and families to keep pushing for more acceptance and support at every level of grassroots esports. Not through snap judgments. Not through a narrow focus on perceived negatives. But through a candid, practical view of the value this industry can provide when it is done the right way.
This was a life-changing experience for these kids and families, and we believe it will stay with them long after the weekend is over.
As we begin building toward the next Nationals event in the Summer of 2027, we welcome all interest, support, questions, and curiosity from families, schools, community leaders, partners, and anyone willing to take a closer look at what youth esports can mean.
We are incredibly proud of our players, thankful for our parents and coaches, and excited for what comes next.
Another milestone. Another step forward. And we are just getting started. 🎮🏆
