Blizzard of '26: We're Still Standing Strong ❄️🌨️💨
Unfortunately, we have to close the gym tonight.
Our hearts go out to everyone on Cape Cod and the southeast shore who's been hit hard by the historic Blizzard of 2026 (aka Winter Storm Hernando). This monster nor'easter—a true bomb cyclone—dumped massive snow (up to 3+ feet in nearby areas, with Sandwich seeing around 14 inches), unleashed hurricane-force gusts up to 90+ mph in spots like Wellfleet and Nantucket, and left widespread power outages across the region, including thousands right here on the Cape. It's been a tough one, echoing the epic storms of the past and reminding us just how powerful nature can be.
For everyone's safety—with roads still treacherous, ongoing cleanup, and recovery crews working non-stop—we're closing the gym tonight in Sandwich. Please stay off the roads if you can and take care of yourselves and your neighbors.
But here's the hopeful perspective: These storms bring out the best in our tight-knit Cape community. We've seen neighbors helping with shoveling, shelters opening up, and linemen from across states rushing in to restore power. The snow will melt, the winds will calm, and warmer days are coming. We'll dig out, rebuild, and step back into the gym ready to hit harder than ever—stronger together.
Stay safe, stay warm, and we'll see you tomorrow when classes resume! 💪🌪️
