DOJO SLEEPOVER HALLOWEEN PARTY
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30TH

Halloween is right around the corner and to keep up with our tradition, we will be having our Annual Halloween Party/Sleepover. The Dojo Halloween Party will start on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30TH, at 6:00 pm and ends SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31ST, no later than 9:00 am. This is 15 hours of kid free time for those of you parents that need a night out. Students do not need to Sleepover and may schedule to be picked up earlier. There will be theme based games as well as other more familiar games, talent show, dancing and many memories made. So be prepared for some great fun! There will also be food, refreshments, music and movies. We would prefer you to be in costume to be able to attend. Yes, that goes for STAFF as well. So, get into the spirit of things and come on in and have a great time.

We are asking for a donation of $30 for participants, $20 for staff and donations of items that we will need for the party. All proceeds will be going into our own “TOM HERIAUD SCHOLARSHIP FUND” “NO STUDENT LEFT BEHIND” fund that is in place to help our students that cannot afford or who come across hard times, even though there is a “Barter and Trade Program” in place, we still have expenses to keep the Dojo up and running. PLUS to help us make out goal of putting a new roof on the Dojo. We still want you there whether you can afford it or not, so come even if you can’t pay or you can contribute in other ways by helping out.

There are three sign-up sheets at the front lobby. The first one is for kid’s age 5 to 12 (DOJO DYNAMICS STUDENTS ONLY, CURRENTLY ACTIVE or ACTIVE in the past 6 months) that will be attending the sleep-over. The second sheet is for staff, age 13 and up (students or parents) we need your help. Parents especially are needed to help set-up, break-down and make this a well-run, organized event. The third sheet is for donation of items we need for the sleep-over or services that may be needed. PLEASE SIGN UP AND PREPAY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO HELP US BEST PLAN FOR THE EVENT WITH FOOD AND SUPPLIES.

Plan on bringing comfortable clothing (shorts, t-shirts, jammies, etc.) to sleep in. Also, you will need to bring a sleeping bag, pillow and anything else you may need to make yourself at home. Special needs should be addressed in writing and medicines should be left with staff.

Hope to see you there……………….

1ST DEGREE ….. JOE GOFF ….. Started with me May of 2014. He represents that you are never too old to start something new. At 50 years old, Joe was working out with his son on open mat time on Fridays encouraging his son Michael. Joe finally started classes with Michael and enjoyed their journey together until Michael earned his Black Belt and went off to college. Mr. Goff continued his training, now without his son, and proved that his training was no longer just a father son experience but a goal much bigger than he had ever imagined. It will be an honor to tie his belt upon him.

1ST DEGREE ….. NATHAN HILL ….. Started with me November of 2016. He and his sister Addy, started with me in 2016. Nate was 9 years old. His sister has gone on to do amazing things as young Mr. Hill continued on with his martial arts journey. He has balanced a very busy High School life with many other sports and activities. The only time he has taken away was to become a certified welder. After completing his schooling, he returned and picked up like he was never gone. He will make a great addition to our Black Belt Family

1ST DEGREE ….. DAVID TAYLOR ….. Started with me February of 2023. He came to me to finish a journey he started many years ago, 1991. His best friend, Robert Butler, showed interest in starting the martial arts and asked David to join with him. Little did Mr. Taylor know that he would one day earn a Black Belt. David took many years off, from 1996 to 2023, with the encouragement from his Wife returning as a Green Belt he has earned as a young man. He has fought through every obstacle at the now age of 50 years old and will make a Great Addition to our Black Belt Family.

2ND DEGREE ….. SENSEI JASON ATKINSON ….. Started with me January of 2018. Last promoted to 1st Degree in October, 2024. He has been a great Sensei and even trying his hand at Kick Boxing.

2ND DEGREE ….. SENSEI JONATHON SMITS ….. Started with me May of 2015. Last promoted to 1st Degree in October, 2024. His level of dedication is second to none and we look forward to his continued training.

3RD DEGREE ….. SENSEI DEREK MILLER ….. Started with me November of 2015. Last promoted to 2ND Degree in April, 2023. Super awesome dedicated Sensei and hasn’t missed a beat since his first promotion.
